Hello, I'm Kate Dungan and this is my blog. My husband Erik is a photographer and co-owner of BIG Folio. We have four amazing children. Jessica is 14, Taylor is 3 and Jayne is two. The Lord has recently blessed us with a beautiful baby boy. Boston Elijah Dungan was born July 1st, 2008. We live in beautiful Oregon. And we have an extremely fluffy black cat named Belle.
He did okay for his first time. Spent a lot of time spitting it back out. I know he will get it soon enough. I can't believe he is almost 5 months! Time is flying by!!!

So.. Having Boston's nursery in the only room in the house with no door and no mini blinds on the big window, was not working out so much. It is the brightest room in the house and the loudest. So this weekend Erik and I did a little re-doing. (Sorry Jess!) We had Boston napping and sleeping in Jessica/guest bedroom) Because its the farthest away, and the quietest and the darkest, and his room was never getting used. So we switched the rooms around so now Boston's nursery is in Jess's room. And we made the guest room/Jess room where Boston's room was. We are getting a room divider for the door. When I have it all decorated I'll blog it so you can see it Jess.. So here are some pics of his nursery. I love how it turned out! It all fits better in a smaller room too. I love having a closet for him and all his stuff in one room! Boston slept in his crib for the first time last night and he LOVED it! He was so cute sleeping in such a big bed. I am so used to him in his bassinet. I have his crib set ordered and on it's way and Megan and I are working on his crib blanket soon so his room is almost done. I love it!
So I weighed in yesterday and I have lost 3 pounds for the month of October. Not the 5 pounds weight goal I was looking for but I am pretty pleased. My pants are all too big! Yea! So thats exciting and I can actually see the muscles I am forming on my legs and arms. I think eating is the biggest challange for sure. I eat good but I think I need to make sure I eat smaller portions. So total weight loss is 8 pounds. 12 more pounds too loose and I will have lost all my boston pregnancy weight.. More to come later!!
So.. Boston is still sleeping in his bassinet.. yes I know.. but he loves it. So Erik and I decided that November was the month that he was going to finally move into his crib! We have had our crib bought and set up thanks to my wonderful parents! But we had waited on buying his crib set from Target because its very expensive. So a couple days ago Erik gave me the go ahead to purchase his crib set! YEA.. or not.. Target discontinued the beautiful baseball crib set that I so wanted for Boston's old fashion baseball room :( sigh.. I decided to start searching for another baseball set. And can you believe that there is not one JUST baseball crib set out there???? Everything either has basketballs or footballs, or soccer balls in it! UH NO THANKS! Not that those are bad necessarily, its just that his room is baseball! I was so bummed.. so I go crying to meg.. whaaa.. then she says, that we could easily make a crib blanket and then go from there.. LOL I SAY WE.. I MEAN HER! LOL.. I am a disaster at sewing.. So she showed me a couple different quilt ideas and we found one that was awesome (See third picture down bellow.. its a girl quilt but its the pattern we are going to use) We then worked out last night and walked over next door to Johann's and Megan was amazing.. I couldn't have picked out what she picked out if I was in there for a week! She just went around grabbing different fabrics and this is what meg put together! ISN'T IT AMAZING!!??? So we have the fabric (see bellow first two picks) Its kinda hard to see the colors but they are two baseball prints, one cream and one red, then a brown flannel fabric, a cord fabric for the dark blue (looks black in picture but is blue) then a neat striped green one to tie in all the colors (says meg, I had no clue what I was doing LOL) And then on the back we got cream chenille for the back of it so it will be a nice heavy blanket for the winter. I cannot wait for us to start working on it!! I will post pics when it is done!! Score in the talented friend department! Thanks Meg!!!
What a fun night!! If you couldn't tell Megan and I were Erik and Jeff for Halloween. Was too much fun!!! Yummy chili, great candy, awesome fellowship! Great night.. thanks my caston friends..
